My brother Chris got married to a beautiful, friendly, smart, wonderful woman named Liz in Tepic, Nayarit, in Mexico. Photos are posted on Flickr, and there are more to come from other friends/family. We had a fun family vacation in Puerto Vallarta after the wedding festivities.

Union Street Fair

I can't wait for that SUGAR RUSH!
Na na na na naaaa na…
I have cotton candy big as my torso and you doooon’t!

Sarah and Nicki took Nora to the Union Street Fair for some kiddo rides, walking around in the beautiful sun, and looking at lots of art. We had a great afternoon!

Nora singing kareoke at Beale Street Bar & Grill for my friend Pam Fusco’s “Last Day at Wells Fargo” get together. She did three songs that night… ABC’s, followed by Dragon Brother, with an encore of ABC’s. She got tons of applause and cheers, and even got a drink bought for her (thanks for the Shirley Temple, Mr. Zhang!).

Memorial Day Parade

You can’t beat the hometown parade! Lakeport, CA puts on a great show — little Shriner cars, rodeo queens on horseback, lots of loud fire trucks, the high school marching band, and lots of floats throwing out candy for the kids!

I Scream, You Scream

Nora’s preschool, Children’s Village, had their annual picnic in Golden Gate Park. There was a cool juggler, and lots of tasty food. Teacher Molly did face painting for the kids!

The rare hot day in May in SF calls for Mitchell’s Ice Cream. Nora chose good ole Chocolate. Note the Hot Rod tattoos – they were all over her body.

Dell, Nora & I went down to Del Mar, CA for a long weekend to visit some friends. We saw the Patterson Family (David, Cindy, Jessica, Alexa, Tyler) and the Romero Family (Celino, Michelle, Nino, Maxi, Raquel). The Patterson Family gave us a room at their spacious, luxurious home, and treated us like royalty. Thanks to them for making our trip so comfy!

We got to go see Los Romeros play an amazing guitar quartet show in Escondido. They dedicated the performance to their late father/grandfather Celedonio Romero who is the amazing man who started their group. Today is the 10th anniversary of his passing… so here is a big SALUD! to Papa up in heaven. Also Happy Birthday to Nino Romero on his “Golden Year” birthday (he turned 8 yrs old on the 8th of May).

Yee-Haw!

Saturday afternoon dress up at Lisa & Riaz & Maya’s. After Maya’s 3rd Birthday party at McKinley Park, we adults hung out and Riaz made some killer margaritas while the kids thankfully kept themselves busy. We made some new friends – Tracy & Thad & son Greyson (from Sonoma), and Karen & Steve & sons Zander & Ryan (from Berkeley – the boys go to Nora’s preschool). It was a perfect afternoon!

Beauty School Dropout

Nora chopped her bangs off at school today… lovely look for her don’t you think? You can really get a great view of her fivehead!

Easter 2006

Joan and Ray hosted a whole gang of us up at the ranch this weekend for Easter. “The Kids” were all home: Chris (and Liz and Sammia), Shelly, (Chad and Grant), and Sarah (and Dell and Nora). Chris’s future in-laws were also there, along with Auntie Chata who speaks only Spanish. Easter Sunday was a group affair with the Svehlas, Hansens and all of us (22 folks total!).

Supercut Sunday

Nora got her hair cut today… for only the second time in her life! Here are some more pictures for you to see before, during, and after. She was so good, and her stylist Deborah gave her a balloon when she was finished. Nora got to have a “Special Treat” for behaving so well during her haircut, and she chose a Crunch Bar for a reward (CANDY!!!).
